Haifa

Haifa is Israel’s third largest city and its northern capital and industrial seaport. Together with its suburbs, Haifa covers an area of 64 km2 and has a population of 600,000 people. It is a center for industrial production, manufacturing and hi-tech, led by the world-renowned scientists of the Technion University. There are plans to redevelop Haifa’s waterfront by relocating its cargo port to the north and its business center to the south, in order to exploit the commercial and leisure opportunities along the Mediterranean coast and turn the seaport area into a tourism center for cruise passengers and local people.
